     The growing population and the economic development of our province has led to an increase in the generation of solid waste. It is not surprising that several mountains of garbage were created. One of the main problem of Basco is the garbage. Since not all waste can be decomposed nor can be burned, local officials made an ocular visit to all public lands available to be used as a dumpsite. Considering the different criteria’s in choosing a site suitable for dumping all garbage collected from each household. Chadpidan was chosen  for the reason that the place is too far from the community. From then, collection of garbage was implemented. But then, the site became the breeding place for pest due to the fact that it is an open dumpsite. It also became an eyesore as well as a big problem especially to the people who used to passed by the site because when there is a heavy rain, debris were carried away to the street blocking the way. Motorists used to meet accidents due to scattered debris. From then, the dumpsite was transferred to MALUYULOY . The place were developed into a park which is now named as ECO-PARK. The local officials made a resolution regarding the segregation of waste. From then on, schedule of collection of garbage was disseminated to every household. Segregation of waste made a great contribution to the community. Biodegradable were used by farmers as fertilizers, recyclables were used by some private organizations for  generating income. Scrap metals were sold to local buyers for  the maintenance of the facilities in the park.
