Methodology
Gathering
information for this project was quite a challenge. Team members had to
sacrifice time to go and find the people who are still involved or practicing
the three arts. We really had to enlist the help of our schoolmates who lived
near these native Ifontoks (people from Bontoc). After having our
questionnaires checked, we also engaged translators to help us because most of
our respondents spoke only the Bontok dialect and there were some terms we
couldn’t understand. We really did take up much of their time and for that, we
are very thankful!
Most of the data were gathered
through interviews conducted after class hours because some of them still go
out even on weekends to their fields. It really takes patience to keep going
back when they are not around. Sometimes, we were able to borrow a digital
camera and at times, none was available so there is undocumented information.
