The residents of
Barangay Valle Cruz is recently residing at Purok 1-A, where
the dumpsite was placed. In this situation, pollution is one
of the major concerns of purok 1-A because it is a threat to
the environment as well as to human health, the pollutants
such as smoke from dumpsite, polluted water and air, are the
results of some people’s irresponsibility and lack of
discipline.
According
to the person in-charge in the City Hall of Cabanatuan City, improper waste disposal can harm
aquatic environment, but the residents of Barangay Valle
Cruz Purok 1-A says that the major diseases in their place
are diarrhea and typhoid fever. Children ranges from 1-7
years old is the most commonly affected by those diseases, and
it’s because of the contaminated water by the parasites
coming from the garbage.
For additional information, we asked the Barangay Captain and residents
of Barangay Valle Cruz, according to them not all are
affected by the pollution from the dumpsite, because only
Purok 1-A is affected.
