Department of Trade and Industry has a big role in our community. One of their work is to promote the tuna industry here in General Santos City all over the Philippines even in the whole world. They are the one who helps in conducting the Tuna Festival every 5th day of September. In that festival, different companies are participating especially in the Float Parade Competition in which the float are in "tuna-like structure. They also suggested the SOCCSKSARGEN Fishing Federation to have a sub-activities related to tuna. These exhibits are sometimes held in different malls in General Santos City. Their recent exhibit was September 2008 held in Gaisano Mall Atrium were some companies participated. They promoted their products and featured different fishing supplies. They also provided some data to our researchers concerning Export Procedures and Documentations.
