Once there lived in Batanes a small man together with some giants. These giants spread all over Batanes. The giants became a burden to the small people of Batanes. They ate the food meant for the small people.
One day, one of the small people of Batanes named Kanyid went to the place of the giants. And then, Kanyid threw an arrow which pierced into the giant’s back. The giant turned around and tried to revenge but before he can threw back the arrow to Kanyid; he had died because of bleeding.
Kanyid headed to the other giants. He threw an arrow at the back of this giant. Immediately the giant fell down from the cliff where he was standing. But as a giant, he was not quite injured because the cliff for him was just an ordinary hole. The giant tried to return the arrow to Kanyid but, Kanyid was faster as he threw another arrow into the giant’s heart. This injured the giant and eventually killed him.
Because of this, the people of Itbud no longer feared hunger. They no longer strived for food because the fast eating giants were over powered by the small brave man, named Kanyid. From then on, he was known as one of the heroes of the Itbud community.
