Preparations:

The “Taong Putik Festival” in celebration of giving praise and honor to their Patron Saint John the Baptist (Apo San Juan) is annually being done every June 23 to 24 of the year.

Like every other festival, people in Barangay Bibiclat, Aliaga do a lot of preparations before doing rituals for the ceremony before celebrating  the festival.

Nine days before the celebration, all of them start preparing. They were making novenas every afternoon before the celebration of the festival. More often, the preparations were being leaded mostly by women in the community.

Anyone that has the capability to perform the rituals such as begging for collections that will be given to their Patron Saint will be a part of the festival. Everyone who will perform the rituals should go to the nearby river to coat themselves with mud and wore a banana leaves all over his/her body. Then, they can perform begging to the streets and ask money to different people. And the money to be collected will be use to buy candles to offer to their Patron Saint. And that is a symbol of giving honor to their Patron Saint John the Baptist.
