( A Brief History)

          The evolutions of TAONG PUTIK have had many versions of story. According to the elders of the Barrio in Bible basis, people in the Barrio impersonate St. John whom they believe symbolizes dirt. In accordance with these, when St. John was preparing the pathway of Jesus Christ and welcome it, he was mud full and vines in the forest almost cover his body.

 According to its history, the first man living in Bibiclat came from Ilocos wherein they carry with them of St. John de Bautista when they arrived in 1876, year when they steeped on the said place according to the number curved on the old bell of their church.

Base on the description of the elders, their place was full of grass and less space was vacant of unnecessary emerging grasses. According to them Bibiclat came from the Ilocano word “BICLAT” which means “PHYTON’ for they are surrounded by the numerous large snakes.

          According also to other person, during the time of World War II, Bibiclat residents were convened by Japanese soldiers in the plaza to know who among of the residents fought against them.
