Entering Brgy. Curva, Ormoc City

An Archway Leaving Brgy. Curva,        Ormoc City

Late 19th century, a land owned by the clans of Martinez and Codilla was existed. It has 500 hectares and was used as a plantation site of agricultural crops. Few people lived in this place. It is a remote place which has a few livelihood projects to sustain and support their means of living. It has no electricity and water supply. It was a rocky place and hard to reach because of inadequate means of transportation. The name of this place is “Curva” which was originated by its curvaceous road.

The owners of this land decided to change this site as a place were the old folks lived and was then called as a “barangay”. This barangay was inhabited by people who started to build a strong community. Windows of opportunities opened for the barangay; power and water supply reached the place, transportation was improved by the road projects done; furthermore livelihood projects were introduced, such as bamboo furniture making, piggery, pottery and poultry. The said business helped the barangay to become more progressive and active.

Recently, the multipurpose building was inaugurated. This establishment serves as hospital, police station and a DSWD center.  Future projects of the honorable officials of the barangay will soon follow.
