                        From a small town of dirt roads and a few asphalt streets of the 1950s, Simangan has a population of 616 and has bloomed into an expanding jungle of concrete and infrastructures. Wide concrete roads and bridges, well-equipped government and clinics, airport facilities and financing institutions, commercial and trade establishments, housing projects, factories and industrial plants.. All of these are moving evidences of modern development and progress thrusts.

             Simangan is recognized as the best barangay of the year 2007 both in the city  and regional level. It is located at the northern part of Leyte province which belongs to the Ormoc City jurisdiction. It is well known for its green surroundings and big farms. This is a beautiful place to live due to its clean and green surrounding. 

                                                                              Barangay Simangan is blessed to have productive lands which led to the contribution of agricultural products in the place.  Until now, Simangan still continues to uphold its reputation for supremacy, reliability and accountability.
