On the year 2000 he then joined YAKAP-Subic. He became a permanent member. The said organization is consisting of people that have been affected by toxic contamination. After 5 years he underwent on operation in the lungs on his disease which is related to toxic contamination.
Until now he still pursues his fight from the U.S. Government with his team and they are hoping to get justice and financial support for U.S. Government.
You have heard different life stories regarding persons that have critical diseases because of Toxic Contamination. One of them is Ronnie Ferrera. He entered the US Naval Base on July 5, 1996; he was a machinist at that time in SRF.
As a machinist their work is to fix the broken systems or parts of the ship. Unlike the other stories that people are not oriented regarding their work and don’t have protection gear, the team of Mr. Ferreras does have a protection gear, they have mask to protect their selves from the rust and toxics, but their masks are not appropriate in their work with or without the mask the toxics can still penetrate their body when they breath.
After 2 years of hard work he has been promoted from machinist to journey man and became a top rate on 1975 he continued working for the U.S. Government for 17 years and he has been part of the Vietnam War. When the U.S. military decided to left the Philippines and their bases on 1992 Ronnie lost his job and forced to find another one. He then find his way to Electro Pacific as a machinist and continued making pipes. Eventually he has been part of CGS construction of Shell. After 3 years he resigned in Electro Pacific due to strict management of the said corporation.
