Methodology

To complete the study, the researchers did their best to gather needed information. Interview was the primary source of information. When the team traveled to Maligcong, only 2 orchard owners were available to answer our questions. They are Mr. Thomas Sadcopen and Mr. Nardo Khayad. We also took videos and photographs of the different varieties of oranges planted by those involved in planting oranges.

Text Box: Mr. Thomas Sadcopen patiently explains the processes involved in planting oranges.
The researchers borrowed a digital camera from one of the relatives of their teammates. This was used to take pictures of oranges to be saved to the computer easily and to view & edit the pictures easily.

To save the information that the interviewees said, we borrowed a video cam from one of our teammate’s father. It really contributed much on our study. However, we are not

sure if we could upload any of these due to the big space required for videos.

Best quotation from Mr. Sadcopen: “If only I could encourage the people here in Maligcong to plant oranges even if it’s only in their backyards, then it would be a good source of income. We are very lucky that our hometown has a good climate for oranges. We only need adequate support so that interested farmers can have the necessary capital to start their own orchard. “

Mr. Nardo Khayad answers questions about how the oranges came to be planted in Maligcong.

Best quotation from Mr. Khayad: “Most people say we have orange plantations up here. What we have do not meet the critieria to be called one. We have orange orchards because the area we have here are smaller.”
