MARAGONDON RIVER DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Methodology

The initial stage for the development of the Maragondon River is the step being taken by the Maragondon Water District to rehabilitate and protect the watershed area surrounding the river.

The Water District is currently working with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Cavite in order to further improve the river and enhance its potential as a major water source for the province in relation to the number of municipalities that will benefit from the development of the river. It is likewise looking into the possibility of working with other organizations that will be able to provide the proper research and development tactics/technical assistance as well as financial support that can further advance this project in order to achieve its goal in making the river the major water source for the areas previously mentioned in this study.
