METHODOLOGY

    Mathematics is perceived by many as a difficult subject. Still, others can not see the relationship between learning the lesson and its application to real life situation. The question as to its usefulness made us come up with the idea on how we are going to use Mathematics in making inferences based from the data that is to be gathered in our community.

     The coach and the subject teacher engaged all fourth year students to facilitate gathering of data. The activity would be an opportunity for students to apply lessons learned in Statistics. Letters were then given to Barangay Captains asking for permission to conduct study in their barangays. Waivers were also given to parents allowing their children to participate in the said activity. Students then were grouped according to their “purok”. Students belonging to a certain purok were the ones responsible in gathering data from that purok. Same set of questions were to be used in the gathering of data to all concerned purok. Gathering of data were done every 4:00-5:00 PM during weekdays and 8:00-12:00 AM during Saturdays. Data gathered per purok would be collated serving     as basis of answering problem/ issues.
