Laji and Palo-palo
Ivatan's Unique Modes to Tourism
Methodology

The team dealt on a thorough research about two of the valued traditional songs and dances of the Ivatans, the Laji and Palo-Palo respectively.  The group delimited only their research area to two of the  municipalities of the Batan island – Basco and Mahatao -  for reasons of accessibility on the part of the researchers.  The team also conducted series of interviews with informants and  requested some carriers of the tradition to sing some  Laji songs for the researchers’ recording purposes.
