INTRODUCTION
Iligan City
is located in the midst of richly varied existing beauty
of Northern Mindanao. It is a city truly beautified and
nurtured by Mother Nature. It is protected from typhoons
by natural barriers; its terrain is hugged by a long
stretch of shoreline along Iligan Bay. Its
mountains and lush forest hide numerous waterfalls in
its embrace, earning for itself the title “City of
Waterfalls”. The most famous, enchanting of these is the
Maria Cristina Falls, which gives pride to
Iliganons. Because of this “trade mark”, the
city promotes its tourism through the genuine 23
waterfalls. Unfortunately, only few waterfalls
have been known and popularized by many due
to the fact that some of them are located in some
remote areas having accessibility problem. Thus, these
waterfalls are still under developed which need
the alliance and attention of the city government to
successfully promote the tourism of Iligan city.
