GETTING TO KNOW THE MAN OF THE HOUR

Commercial Weather Vendor Web Sites
Mike Padua's initiative of providing additional
weather forecasts is no longer new to the scene. Other
similar endeavours already exist in the country. The
most prominent of which is the Manila Observatory
founded in 1865. It is a private non- profit research
institution based on Ateneo de Manila Campus that is
committed to a scientific culture for sustainable
development of the Philippines in its regional and
global context through research excellence in
environmental and pre-disaster science, particularly in
the areas of atmospheric studies, solid earth dynamics
and instrumentation.
Moreover, a number of Commercial Weather Providers and
Commercial Weather Web Sites are now widespread all over
the globe. Hundreds of them already exist in Europe,
Africa and Asia. The only difference is that their
service is at a cost while that of Mike Padua is for
public service, without expecting anything in return.
