Conceptualizing the problem
Given the objectives of the
study, the research team was asked to formulate relevant
questions to be included in the survey forms and
distributed to various people of the community. The team
ended up with 20 survey questions for validation by the
teacher-coaches, and likewise, the team immediately made
the necessary arrangement with the office of the
principal for the reproduction of the survey forms. Mr.
Sulpicio C. Aferez, school principal, immediately gave
the team his outright support. Out of the 700 survey
forms which the team patiently distributed to the
parents of the students and to the different barangays
of the city in three months time, only a total of 422
copies was retrieved; however, it was able to surpass
the 50% required number of respondents.
