Introduction |
|
The notes of our past, the rhythm of our present and the beat of our future embedded in the fingers and hearts and in the rhythm that goes unplugged.
Despite busy schedules in their own professions, the desire to paint the town in notes and in lyrics, air environmental concerns and appeals between drum taps, save and perpetuate the tribal beats and folksongs of Coron and make them hold firm in a fast changing world drove the un-led group to each other.
These guys are no tribesmen but the desire to protect and preserve the tribal way of life, their culture in their music is one great aspiration.
The century old mixture of different cultures of the immigrants and the natives (Tagbanua and Calamianen) of Coron produced a distinct type of characteristic in them as depicted in their daily lives in a factor worth promoting.
Tablay of the natives, Ay ay Toting of the early immigrants, Abeh of the present and Kulimlim of the future are just few songs TRIBU Calamianen hopes to perpetuate to shape us one and bridge generations.
