Project Description:
This focus study entitled “PULOS: The Functions of MATH in Oponganons Way of Life” is an entry for Doon Po Sa Amin under the MATHEMATICS Category. This focus study is equal to the number of Oponganons who deals with numbers in their daily living, how intelligent the Oponganons are and bringing back the ‘out of school youth' by teaching them strategies to show how fun and easy MATH is.
The focus study is divided into three subtopics. This include:
•POKUS - which aims to bring back out-of-school youth children in Lapu-Lapu City and prove to them that math is easy.
•SUKOD - introduces the measurements used in the island of Lapu-Lapu City. This measurements can be converted into the standard units of measurements.
•PINSAR - measures the competency of all the high school students of Lapu-Lapu City. Their scores during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Division Unified Tests were used as bases to obtain the goal. Statistical Treatment are applied into the Scores of the students.
