Lake Sebu is a place that was blessed with superfluous bounty. With its rivers, lakes, 7 fantastic water falls, and 3 magnificient lakes that are so relaxing and comforting. The three lakes were named: Lake Sebu, Lake Seloton, and Lake Lahit.
Lake Lahit is the first lake you can see when entering the place. Lake Lahit is the smallest one. Lake Sebu is the second lake you can see, it is situated in the heart of the municipality. Lake Sebu is the largest among the three lakes, this lake got its name from a T'boli term "Sebu" which means a water appears like a magic. The deepest lake is the Lake Seloton. It is where you can see one of the most attractive resort. These three lakes played the important role in the lives of Lake Sebunians.
For It is the source of their living. It is where they can get food, earn money, and it helps the economic development of the municipality. These lakes bear Tilapia that are fresh and taste very good. As a matter of fact, Lake Sebu is known to be the "Best Tilapia Producing Municipality" in South Central Mindanao because of our Tilapia delicacies.
As time passes by, these beautiful, fresh lakes became polluted and Eutrophic because of the changes and lack of education to the people residing in the place. With this, different problem arises. The number of water hyacinth increases and water lettuce arises that lead to the decreasing of the oxygen taken by the fishes and other living organisms under the water.
