About the Focus Study

 

The information on this website concerns everybody because of the universal interest on culture, heritage, and history. It features the values and the rich heritage of the Ibaloi culture that are unknown, and sadly, only a few appreciate.

 

This website informs you about the cultural practices of the Ibalois in Loakan, the indigenous people in Baguio City. It aims to heighten appreciation of indigenous culture not only of the Ibalois but also of other cultures.

 

Most especially, this website is dedicated to the youth, particularly the Ibalois, that they may gain a sense of origin and identity to build their self-esteem as Ibalois: descendants of the staunch defenders of the Cordillera; and a people of deep faith in God.

 

May this website inspire greater interest on the study of one’s culture, develop deeper understanding and tolerance of differences among cultures and thereby promote peace and opportunities for development.
