During these modern days, many questions of culture are transferred into questions of identity. Culture, as a social practice, is not something that individuals have power over. Rather, it is a social course of action in which individuals participate, in the context of changing historical circumstances. As an "historical reservoir", culture is an imperative aspect in shaping identity. The cultural identity annotates upon the place, history, and religious beliefs.

In line with this, the island of Mactan is known of its historical richness, tantalizing places and faithfulness in religious way of life. One of these has been brought forward in the Magnum Opus which is the history. It gives you the idea about the battle between two chieftains who fight to look after their dignity, fellow men and land of birth.

Every strike of their swords gives the pleasure of overcoming the battle. Each move that they give away denotes the bravery and the heroism of our first Filipino hero, Lapu Lapu. Every single expressive face that they show is equivalent to the love that they go through for their inhabitant soil.

This part of the Magnum Opus, battle of chieftains, gives you an idea about how the native Oponganons draw closer to blow for their right.
