Studies show that the most predominant medical problems of the elementary pupils in Lapu-Lapu City are the following: 1. Dental Problems - it includes the cavities, bad breath, tartar, gingivitis, dry mouth, toungue problems, mouth ulcers, gum diseases and tooth loss. 2. Skin Problems - rabies, infected wounds and fungal infection are very common to pupils. 3. Pediculous - pupils who have this are infested with lice thus they badly need a doctor to check them up 4. Malnutrition - this is caused by improper and inadequate diet. An extended period of starvation can lead to malnutrition. If not an adequate supply of nutrients is consumed, the greater the possibility that a person might be malnourished. 5. Cough and Colds - commonly spread by virus. These were tallied by the Division of Lapu-Lapu City Health Department to monitor the health of the unaware pupils especially at their age. Regular check-up must be taken care of to make preventive measures.

The Channel of Hope and TIMEX handed out some toothbrushes and held lectures to have the children a basic knowledge of toothbrushing. Schools like Babag II ES, Look ES, Lapu-Lapu City Central ES, Pajo ES, and Canjulao ES are now aware due to the lifework of the two companies. MEPZ 2 and Lexmark also reprimanded some dental hygiene and considered this stuff as an operation blessing for the Sudtonggan and Suba-masulog Elementary School. The School Health and Nutrition Program also had their nurses lectured to the pupils in the different schools in Lapu-Lapu City about personal hygiene to prevent skin problems and pediculous. Canjulao Elementary School was also given the chance to be visited and checked by the Rotary Club of Mactan. Rotary Club is now working on the development of lives of the Oponganon's residents.
