The Pineapple Fields
The HSPA (The Hawaiian Sugar Planters Association) went to regions of Ilocos and Visayas where there were large rural population to find unskilled laborers. The unskilled laborers will manually worked for 10 hours in Hawaii.
The Filipino, with a total of 126 147 recruits or known as SAKADAS ranges 37 years old,A total of 126,147 Filipinos from Hawaii during four time periods between 1906 to 1946, where mostly Ilocanos and Visayans are on a three- year contract.
Here are the SAKADIANS.
Their main goal was to work hard, save money, and return home quickly to their families because their wives and children were in the Philippines since they were in Hawaii.
