The Press Conference

Once a year, a convention of the brilliant minds and talented journalists takes place. It is a race wherein everybody wants to go first to break the finish line ribbon, it is a bazaar wherein everybody wants to take part and sell off their goods, it is a contest wherein one can learn and win at the same time, it is an event a student should not miss. There, the participants, elementary and secondary students, show off their own style of writing, each one unique and different from the other.

There are several categories to choose from namely: News writing, Feature writing, Editorial writing and Sports writing. These are the categories that mainly involves using the pen, paper, imagination and of course, the facts. For others that are not so into writing, there are the other categories which are: Photojournalism, Editorial cartooning and for the skilled eyes, Copy reading and Headline writing.

It is one way of knowing and discovering the future journalists of the place, and a very nice technique of molding and crafting the students' abilities of creating, appreciating and loving literature.

It is the press conference - already a tradition very difficult to break. An evidence that Oponganons do welcome the idea of literature and in the near future, one of these journalists will take the stage and be one of the most prominent writers in the world. As for now, we are proud to say that we have the capacity, the potential that are being developed by the school heads and they are wasting no time.
