Small but Terrible

Big time people aren't the only ones who can inspire us to be something great someday. An individual who may seem to be a complete stranger to you could possibly be someone who can change you and your ways. In this project, we took the chance to feature simple persons who have big time dreams. People who can deal with a bittersweet life, even by just giving their time for the community and everyone in it.

 

OPONGANON # 1

Jasmine Benedicta

Manang Jasmine is a cheerful and religious metro-aide head. She works by cleaning areas in the city from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. Manang Jasmine used to be a catechist too, and she says that it's been hard, having to do 2 jobs in a day. She never regrets experiencing it though, because it taught her how to manage her time properly. For 18 years she has been diligently working for the community even if sometimes having to do a lot of work gets pretty overwhelming.

As a leader, she never forgets her limitations and tries her best to treat everyone equally. What inspires her is the trust and respect she has gained with her loyalty in service. “ Pray lang gyud everyday ,” – these words prove that Manang Jasmine will always be glad and willing to serve the community with the Holy Family as her guide.
